About Me

My family is my life. I have two sweet boys, and everything I do is for them. Yoga makes me a better person, and therefore a better mother, so I never feel guilty about the time I devote to my practice!

I first discovered Yoga in college as I pursued a degree in Vocal Performance. Later, during my pregnancies, I studied hypnobirthing and intuitively practiced meditation and restorative yoga poses as a way to relax and prepare for labor. I started practicing Yoga seriously after the birth of my son, and found that it helped me bounce back, physically and emotionally, from the major life changes that a new baby brings. It helped me to accept my changed body with its new strengths and limitations.

Having been a dancer as a child and teenager, I was drawn to the physical aspects of Power Yoga, but I was surprised at how the practice balanced my emotions and helped me to relax. I certified through YogaFit in February 2008, and taught a Power Yoga class at Charisma Dance Studios in Springville, Utah. I am now teaching Yoga for Kids and Prenatal Yoga classes at Hobble Creek Learning Center, and Power Yoga at Omega Martial Arts.

I am also a singer and voice teacher, a jewelry-maker, an avid reader, and an occasional insomniac! Yoga is the best medicine I have found for insomnia, depression, anxiety, and stress. It has also improved my singing through posture and breath work, and I integrate yoga into my voice lessons whenever I can.

My goal is to help mothers and families learn the benefits of Yoga, exercise, and healthy living. In uncertain times, it is especially important to take care of our bodies and alleviate stress.
